I got this key puller to swap lots of keys out on keyboards, to try different switches. Key puller works pretty well and has some advantages over traditional open frame wire ones. This is easy to put on until it clicks to latch the switch. Then removing it you have a better hold on tool and can be more gentle if it's not coming loose easily. Button at top makes release quick for next key. It did work on the ESC, F-keys, and arrow keys, just fitting in. Keycap puller also works better for wide keys like shift because metal arms can be unlatched and widened more. On some keyboards it required significant force to latch on key switch, others it was very easy to press down.

Unlike the Gateron 2-in-1 of the same variety, the width of the switch puller is bulkier and has a hard time entering between the non-space bar stabilizer slots (these are usually the 2u and the 2.25u). You can press down on it, but it doesn't feel good to remove those switches. The claw grabs decently well, and I didn't experience any issues with switch extraction overall, but it's just that bulkiness that I am giving this a 4/5.The keycap puller is fine.

Yes, it will pull caps. Yes it will pull switches. The cap puller is a little cheesy, the arms don't lock open, and they don't stay shut. There is a retainer clip to try to hold them shut but it doesn't work very well. When they are open, you have to pinch the arms to get them under the keycaps where my other keycap pullers stretch over the keycap as you push down and spring back under the keycap once they clear it. The switch puller I'm a fan of. Another comment mentioned the potential of marring plate or damaging the board using it, I don't think marring the plate is really a concern, but if you aren't using a plate between the board and switch, or you are overly concerned about marring the plate this style of switch puller isn't going to be the right option. It's very fast to pull switches and requires minimal effort compared to regular pinchers. I will likely pull off the keycap arms and just use this for switches.

For the price it does the job. The switches I had were a little difficult to take out and this tool helped for 85% of it. There were some where it lost the grip before removing the switch.

It's pretty reliable, looks great and is super cheap there's nothing that stands out as overly bad about it.

So easy to use and way easier on your hand than using one of those pinch style key cap removers. Also makes pulling switches easy as all you have to do is press a button to release the switch from its tight grasp! Comfortable to use and feels like solid build quality.

read the instructions. go to the the mambasnake website. take a look at the illustrations. if you know what you are doing then the tool works fantastically. will not wreck or scratch up your keys.

It fits my keyboard perfectly, cheap, and really lightweight. I haven't got the chance to try out the switch grabber yet, hopefully I will be able to soon. But it's great for customizing the keycaps though. Also massive brownie points for it being Yellow!

A vital tool for changing switches. Seriously, save your hands and wrists the pain. You stab the switch (as fun as it sounds!), the hooks latch on and you yank up. It's so much better than using those little pinch style tools that most people give out for free. I swapped out the 70-80 switches on my keyboard in the time that it would have taken me to manually do just a few. Get this. The time saved is worth every penny.

Why did you pick this product vs others?:It was difficult to figure out how to use but once I did, it's not bad. Could be better, the switch pulling mechanic might not damage the switches but it scratches the board when lining it up and manually pushing the prongs back in with my fingers gets boring.

I'm new to hot-swappable keyboards so pulling switches still feels like I'm breaking them. This makes that feeling go away somewhat :) Plus, I really like having the switch puller and key cap puller in one!

this is a great little switch puller. I have plenty of the cheap ones that come with keyboards but I was tired of having sore fingers from using the cheap versions. This is easy to use, line it up, push it down, pull it out, pop it out, move onto the next one. Great value for the money considering that its my fingers I'm saving from wearing the nubbins off. Seems durable enough, time will tell. I'm pleased with it's performance overall, it makes pulling switches a breeze.

Keycap puller works great, I'm slightly petrified of the switch puller. It's the same mechanism as another puller I have in this form factor, and it's basically using a claw machine to rip out the switches, but where the claw gets to be bored directly into the plate, risking damage. I think if you're using this on something kind of more run of the mill like a Logi or Corsair board I wouldn't worry about it, the boards are strong enough to withstand the pressure/scraping, probably shouldn't do any functional damage. If you're looking at using this on a PCB for a $800 custom keeb, don't. Please don't.That said it's great for my kit, love having the option to make quick work in instances where I don't mind the aforementioned, just not the tool for more delicate work. Nice all in one tool for the price.

this tool does it all! Perfect for pulling off keycaps, even longer keycaps since you can unhinge the wire to get a bit more reach. The switch puller is very sturdy and locks in place. It made removing switches a breeze! Throw away the cheap tools that came with your keyboard and buy yourself this tool. You won’t regret it.

The metal on this key puller is pretty thin but it still works great. I guess you need it thin to fit between your caps. It is so much easier now to customize my caps. I am pulling 3 pin switches which it works great with. It is a bit harder to pull 5 pin switches but it still works.

I finally got around to using an automatic switch puller. I wasn't sure how well it would perform but I'm glad I got it as it did work really well, and helps alleviate some of the strains I develop on my hand after non stop pulling. This device actually has both a keycap and switch puller on the opposite sides. Keycaps use less energy and force but the switches, this comes very handy as you simply hold the device over the switch and the arms grab from the bottom. You pull up but don't use much force which makes it less tiring on you. Pulling switches just got a whole load faster than doing it by hand. I think it's worth a try.

Works pretty well, way better than the ones that came with my kb and key caps. I don't really care for the pink color, but the fiancée likes the color. I'm sure this keycap puller will disappear from my desk and re-appear somewhere around her desk soon enough.

If you're into mechanical keyboards like I am, this is a handy little tool. Much better than the cheap ones that come with your keyboard. Pulling 80 plus switches with that piece of metal is tiring and depending on the type of caps you have, the plastic pullers can damage your keycaps. The wire style fits in smaller places and pulls from the bottom, instead of pinching the sides. Works especially well with pcb mounted switches and a raised top-frame. I use rubber caps on my fps keys and the plastic pullers have peeled the sides before. The switch puller side is much easier and lines up nicely with the release tabs. Will cut the time in half to replace the switches on your board, with a lot less effort. This tool will definitely help protect your investment.

This is a pretty cool design that I haven't personally seen before. The keycap puller is pretty typical, although this one folds in to the side to make it a little more compact. The pullers have a tendency to snap back out so you have to be somewhat ginger, but I think all pullers are finnicky in their own ways. As for the switch puller, I like the concept... but not the execution. The way it works is you push the puller into the board. This causes the claws to retract inward and up into the device, and then a button at the top is pressed to release the switch. The mechanism works EXTREMELY well for quickly pulling switches, better than anything I've used. However, the need to push the claw into the board causes damage to the plate. There are mild scratches on my FR4 board, it will definitely scuff aluminum, and this would especially be an issue for polycarbonate. It's a real shame because like I said, the mechanism is extremely reliable. I really hate to recommend a pass on this. If the mechanism was manual instead of having to push it into the plate, I'd recommend this tool to every mech keyboard owner I know. It could make pulling switches such a breeze. If you're cool with potentially damaging your plates or you're taking apart an old beater board, this tool really does work like a charm.

I just transplanted switches between 2 keyboards and had no idea how much easier it is to do with a tool like this. Previously I had used the wire-type puller that typically comes with hot-swap keyboards and it's a bit of a chore.This tool can get around larger keycaps with ease, but its superpower is in pulling the switches. Just center the tool over the switch, push down until it bottoms out, then pull up. Then just push the button to eject the switch from the tool.
