Excellent responsiveness with the included dongle

If you're after a very light, nicely shaped mouse that is super smooth this is probably it.The feel of the mouse is good in the hand for me because it's not overly chunky and the button click responsiveness is excellent. The buttons do have a clicky sound to them, but it's relatively muted and not too noisy in use. The scroll wheel runs smoothly and the wheel texture isn't wearing on me so far. Scrolling is precise and quick switching inventory slots for example i haven't miss my mark yet. The general mouse build quality is good, but it is a fairly basic construction and the matt plastic doesn't appear to be a fingerprint magnet so far.For me as CS2 player lag is the enemy and moving from a wired G502 to this i felt no difference in responsiveness when using the included dongle. Flick shots, rapid turns and acquiring targets remained snappy and controlled. The DPI range is decent using the button on the base but i did need the lowest DPI setting for how i have my in-game settings configured. For single player games like KCDII once again no issues for example in combat where you need to be spot on with strikes and counters. Desktop use was likewise good although i had to move up through the DPI range to get it up to speed. As noted above the included dongle works well, no drivers required and it isn't a line of sight dongle so the placement is flexible. While this mouse won't be for anyone wanting something heavy or with lots of MMO type buttons, it is perfectly good for competitive titles which pleasantly surprised me.

Always Sharp

The Attack Shark V5 was so close to being on my desk for a while, but sadly I'm going to be putting it away and going back to my other mice. The shape is great -- it reminds me a bit of the Zowie S2 but with less of a hump toward the back. The weight is perfect for me, and the skates (after you remove the clear protective film) are very smooth. The main Omron Optical switches have a bit of ping but are mostly well implemented. Side buttons are mechanical and work well with no major pre or post travel. The sensor has been very good in my testing, with nothing to complain about. The web-based software is fairly easy to use and works fine. The clear USB dongle looks interesting, but it just has one super bright LED instead of it being diffused. I feel like that was a missed opportunity for something unique. I had to turn it off because it was blindingly bright. That lead me to the biggest disappointment of this mouse... the scroll wheel. Attack Shark mice, in my experience, have poor scroll wheels. They are usually mushy and vague, and get stuck between steps which is a big deal for me when playing FPS games. However, this wheel is not just the usual mushy and vague mess, the scroll wheel sometimes doesn't respond when scrolling. I've had it happen numerous times now where multiple steps on the scroll wheel simply won't respond until I scroll a few more times. Very frustrating, and disappointing. This could have been such a great mouse. The charging cable is also stiff and I wouldn't want to use it while gaming. It came with mouse grips as well, but I do not use grips so I cannot comment on them. As a side note, I'm not sure why they included a coiled keyboard cable with my mouse, but I guess I won't look a gift horse in the mouth. I suspect they intend the user to use it with their mouse dongle instead, but it would look odd having two of them on my desk.Edit: It may be a false positive, but right after writing this review, I had a Windows Defender Security warning come up that a trojan was detected on my computer (Win32/Vigorf.A) and I suspect it may have something to do with the software/drivers for this mouse that it had me install. My internet security also warned me that the Attack Shark site was considered malicious, but I dismissed it initially. Again, it may just be nothing, but be careful.

This is a fantastic gaming mouse with excellent build quality. The contoured shape is very comfortable, though I think it's really made for bigger hands, as mine are on the smaller side. The ultra lightweight design is great for long sessions, and the high performance sensor provides flawless, precise tracking. I love the versatile connectivity with the 8K dongle and Bluetooth. The battery life last for days. It comes with nice extras like a paracord cable and grip tape. For the price, it offers incredible value compared to the big brands. It's a top tier mouse, especially if you have medium to large hands.

Mr. Review

The ATTACK SHARK V5 Gaming Mouse is an ultra-lightweight, feature-packed mouse that comes with an 8K 2.4GHz USB-C Dongle with LED lighting that can be disabled via the web driver, or it can also be connected via Bluetooth. The DPI presets range from 1200 to 42000, though for the life of me, I don't know where 42K DPI is useful, at least not in my gaming sessions. Note, these presets can be fully adjusted within the web driver interface, which is easy to use, and I appreciate not having to install another piece of desktop software. The mouse's build quality is excellent, with its matte white plastic shell, smooth-scrolling wheel, and tactile Omron optical switches. I also like the contoured sides of the V5 and found it felt very comfortable during my long gaming sessions. Also included in the box is a paracord USB-A to USB-C cable for charging it or using the V5 in wired mode, along with a nice colour-matched coiled cable for connecting the transparent plastic 2.4Ghz 8K polling rate dongle. The snowflake frost-inspired grip tape was also a nice accessory.Overall, the V5 is a nice addition to ATTACK SHARK's gaming mouse lineup for 2025, featuring a flagship PixArt PAW3950 sensor and long battery life thanks to the 500mAh rechargeable battery and Nordic 52840 microcontroller. I think it is priced competitively and, frankly, offers significant savings compared to the bigger name brands, without sacrificing quality sensors, polling rates, and DPI capabilities. It also avoids the bloatware that both Logitech and Razer are unfortunately well known for by utilizing a simple-to-use web driver interface. A recommended buy based on my experience using the V5 for review, in addition to using an ATTACK SHARK R3 mouse as my daily driver for some time now. An underrated gaming accessories company, from my POV, that continues to offer well-spec'd gaming keyboards and mice.

Changed from a high end logitec mouse to this and couldn't be happier

It's true that within the computer/gaming segment there exists a certain snobbery when it comes to brand image. If you want to succeed at gaming, then you have to be spending silly money on the top brand names. Well this brand is certainly going against the grain. Attack Shark may not be a brand you've heard of before, but within a few months they have quickly jumped to the top of the list. Previously my son had changed from a top spec corsair all singing & dancing "gamer" keyboard to Attack Sharks amazing R82 75% magnetic switch keyboard and has been on the lookout for a matching mouse ever since. As with the keyboard, a lot of thought has gone into the mouse presentation and into the comfort feel of the device itself. The V5 promises high performance and low latency and does not disappoint. One of the big things with his older mouse was it had adjustable weights inside. The idea being sold was that a heavier mouse was better for gaming? One of the things constantly remarked upon is how light this one is and the accuracy doesn't suffer for it, in fact it's actually improved! It's nice to see a brand that delivers on all fronts.Attack Shark proves that there's better stuff out there that's a fair bit cheaper too.

This is amazing light mouse, the best mouse I ever used, it has amazing grip and quality, the dpi is the best like the g pro superlite. Also this mouse is designed for big hands instead of Mr. Tiny Tuff Knuckles who gave it 3/5 stars.Amazing value since it was 1/3 the price of the g pro super lite. Pretty easy good charging had amazing battery life. The mouse functions pretty well and I don’t see any reasons why not to get it. The R series like the R is mainly for small hands unlike the V series.
