This mouse is aimed at gamers as it has high-speed polling rates and high DPI settings. It also has optical switches for greater reliability. It has multiple connection options: wired, wireless, or Bluetooth, and comes with a flexible cable if you want to use it wired. I was also pleased to see the included spare low-friction sliders for the base and the grip stickers for your custom grip setup. It's a very lightweight mouse, and for me, this took a bit of time to get used to. But it's well-made and good value and you get a lot of mouse for the price, and it's an item I would recommend.

This mouse is designed with performance in mind, and the specs show it. At just 59 g, it feels extremely lightweight, which makes fast flicks and long gaming sessions much easier on the wrist. The right‑handed ergonomic shape sits comfortably in the hand, and the “ice‑feel” coating gives it a smooth, cool finish that feels premium without being slippery. The combination of the Nordic 54L15 chip and the PAW3950MAX sensor delivers quick, responsive tracking, and the extremely high DPI ceiling offers plenty of headroom for players who like fine‑tuned sensitivity settings. The 8000 Hz polling rate and 20,000 FPS tracking help keep movements consistent and snappy, especially in fast‑paced games. It supports Bluetooth, 2.4 G wireless, and wired use, so it’s flexible for different setups. The buttons have a crisp, clean click, and the overall build feels solid despite the low weight.Overall, it’s a fast, lightweight, and highly responsive mouse that suits competitive gaming or anyone who prefers a smooth, ultra‑quick feel.

Firstly, something very important if you are thinking of getting this mouse. Although the description states that it works with Macs as well as with PCs, this is not accurate. The manual states that, when you connect the mouse to your computer, (either with Bluetooth or the dongle) the software/driver should automatically download and install, but that if it doesn't you can get the necessary files from the Shark website. Whilst you can download a .rar file from the Support section of the Shark site, when you extract the file it's an .exe file, which is only compatible with Windows. There is absolutely no driver available for Mac users, (believe me, I'm a very experienced Mac user and I tried everything). That is not to say that the mouse won't work out of the box with a Mac per se. But there are various problems and limitations. Plug in the dongle (supplied) into a USB port on your Mac. Switch the mouse's mode button (underneath, on the right) to the top setting (which activates the dongle as receiver), and you can immediately use the mouse. However, because you have no software or driver, you cannot customise the mouse at all. So that means you can't assign actions to the buttons or adjust the tracking speed and sensitivity, or any of the things that you would want to change to your liking. And you can't use the advanced features you'd want for gaming (horizontal scroll, tilt, using modifier keys to create 'chords' etc.). So that's the driver issue (and I will come back to that later, as I did discover a partial solution). I would point out, though, that after extensive research online I found out that Shark are well known for producing products for Windows only, not Mac OS. I wish I had known that and not been misled by the product info, which said otherwise. The second problem, for Mac users, is that you cannot use this mouse on a Mac without the dongle. If you unplug the dongle, attach a USB to C cable and switch the mouse to Bluetooth mode (bottom of the right switch underneath, marked BT) and attempt to pair with your Mac as per the instructions, it either refuses to pair and show in your Bluetooth list at all, or the Mac's Keyboard Setup window comes up. I know from experience that this is a very common problem with attempting to use some third-party mice with a Mac (and it has been so for a long time). There is no way around it. So this is another limitation if you use a Mac. I tried to get the thing to work on 3 separate Macs - my ageing iMac, a newer iMac and my relatively recent MacBook Air. Same thing on all of them.I don't own a PC with Windows so could can't comment on how smoothly the installation goes for that platform or comment on the quality of the software/driver and customisation options. The mouse itself is very well made and I found it lightweight and pleasant to use. It's ergonomic in the hand and the controls are right where you need them and are responsive. The dongle is cute with its shark fin on top, has a high-quality USB to USB cable which is a good length, black (to match my mouse and dongle) and is braided for resilience. The instructions could do with a little work as some things are left out. There are numerous stickers which don't seem to go anywhere, except for the anti-slip ones for the mouse itself, which I didn't find necessary to put on.Finally, I did find a solution to the 'missing software/driver' problem. I searched online and found a very highly recommended 3rd party software that offers a 30-day free trial. It's an extremely reasonable price and I've already bought it after trying it out because it offers everything I need. It recognised the mouse immediately (with dongle attached; Bluetooth is still not an option) and I was able to change settings to my satisfaction and more. Still, it's annoying that I can't use it without the dongle so I won't be replacing my Magic Mouse with this. but will use it as a backup when charging that one.I think it's possibly a good price for people with Windows, although, as I have said, I was not able to check its performance on that platform. As it is very nicely boxed and presented I think it would also make a good present for someone using Windows, although someone reviewing this mouse on a Window platform can advise more relevantly on that point.I hope this review helps those with Macs.

Ok, I admit it, I'm not a competent "Gamer" as I'm probably much older than typical "Gamers" and my reaction-times have slowed with increasing age. Nevertheless, as my old current "wireless mouse" is no longer as responsive as it once was I jumped at the opportunity to review this ATTACK SHARK V8 8000Hz Wireless Gaming Mouse on behalf of the Amazon Vine Programme. As far as I can tell this "Wireless Gaming Mouse" is a sophisticated beast that doesn't even break into a sweat keeping up with the dexterity of the "fingers and thumb" of my ageing right hand. Yes, I get a "head start" with my right hand movements because the size and sculpted form of this Mouse "fits" my right hand "like a glove";- combine that "head start" with the ultra low weight of the Mouse and it's appropriately "silky" exterior surface then I now have an increased "fighting chance" with my PC Gaming efforts! Ok, I know that the "silky" surface I've referred to is actually a:- (quote from Amazon webpage for this product) "...premium nano-metal ice coating that reduces sweat buildup and enhances grip stability during long gaming sessions." (end of quote) but I have simply experienced it as a "silky surface"!Considering my distinct lack of knowledge and understanding of "computer tech" I managed to get the ATTACK SHARK Mouse working "under my fingers and thumb" straight from the box with less effort than it takes to read this review, and in less time too;- so yes, I'm both pleased and impressed with just how easy "getting going" with the Mouse was. Before ordering this Mouse online from Amazon I'd read all the information about it from the Amazon webpage where this product is listed,- so I know this Mouse is Powered by the latest Nordic 54L15 chipset, and that it:- (quote) "...delivers ultra-low 0.168ms click latency and extended wireless playtime with its built-in 500mAh battery" (end of quote) but I just don't know what all that technical stuff means other than "Gosh, it works really fast";- and in my opinion this Mouse does!I've been sufficiently adventurous to try using the Mouse connected to my P.C. both via the Bluetooth option (with supplied receiver) and also with the Mouse connected via the supplied USB lead directly plugged into the P.C. I couldn't detect any difference in performance with either connection method (which I presume is what should be expected!) but I personally prefer the Bluetooth option as it simply gives me more scope to manoeuvre the Mouse unhindered by the cable. The USB cable provided with this product is thicker than other USB cables I have, and its outer casing is made from a form of braided cloth rather than plastic;- I presume this helps ensure "utra-fast" communications.Of course there are cheaper options than this Mouse;- but in my opinion "you get the performance you pay for", and I think the "ATTACK SHARK" represents good value for money.

I'm impressed with the performance of this lightweight wireless mouse. For a long time I thought wired peripherals would be essential for gaming, but the response times and accuracy of this mouse make me confident I won't need a wire again. The mouse is only 59g, maybe slightly more with the included rubber grips. It's noticeably lighter than older wireless mice that have AA/AAA batteries. It's easy to adjust the cursor with small movements and the PTFE feet glide easily over my basic old mousepad. It suits a right hand and I find it comfortable to use in a 'finger grip' where all my fingers touch the mouse, but my palm hovers above it. Compared to the Attack Shark V3Pro I tried before, it's has slightly narrower body. The overall feel of it reminds me of the old Deathadder. The mouse comes with optional grip stickers that you can put on the buttons and the body. They're a little fiddly too put on, but I like that they can be removed, as I've had many mice with rubberised coatings that eventually flake and look/feel terrible. I can't see these exact grips on sale, but it looks like there are similar Attack Shark grips that you could replace these with when they wear out.The click feedback is satisfying, slightly dampened, giving it a luxurious feel. The side buttons also have clear feedback. My only complaint with the controls is that the scroll wheel feels a little slippery, but it isn't too bad.Accuracy seems great. I've been playing the deathmatch game STRAFTAT with it and I've found it reliable for headshots.Connectivity is good, with a dedicated dongle that includes a nice flexible braided wire, so you can place the dongle close to your mouse for the best connection. Obviously using this dongle will offer the best experience, however, it's nice to know that you can use bluetooth in a pinch, or plug in a wire if you're out of battery.Another cool thing about the mouse is that it can be configured in a web UI with no additional software needed. Unfortunately there's a bit of a visual bug in the web UI where the text and background contrast is...challenging to read. It's still usable and simple to set what you want the side buttons to do etc.The DPI switch is on the bottom of the mouse, which helps prevent accidental changes, but it also precludes a quick DPI switch in-game. I'm not enough of a pro gamer to switch DPI on the fly though, so it doesn't bother me much.I was a little disappointed that the dongle wasn't also a charging dock like the V3Pro, especially since this mouse costs almost twice as much. At least it can be used when plugged in.Overall, this is another quality lightweight wireless mouse from Attack Shark, it definitely challenges more expensive brands in terms of performance and features.
